In march I led my first full day retreat to support other healers and helpers tune in, dive deep, and discover their own strengths and wisdom to prevent burnout and compassion fatigue. As I pulled up into the full parking lot where many other locals had joined to experience and appreciate the beautiful Spring temperatures and blooming wildlife, I couldn’t have been more ready to start the day with a grounding activity amongst the mountainous backdrop and clear blue skies in our private little nook off the beaten path. As participants got to know one another through a collection of creative warm-ups, I planted the seed of intention:
How can you be enough in our ever-changing world?
It was a gorgeous day, not only because of the temperate weather and incredible views, but also the insight, connections, and discoveries along the way! After spending time learning about one another through the environment, movement, writing, and sharing, we began to explore how burnout and compassion fatigue can manifest. Together, we explored the 5 Key Resiliency Skills that can help prevent burnout, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma.
We continued the day with a Mindful Meal following the poem, Breathing Meditation, by Thich Nhat Hahn and discussion of this process before diving into the art materials for an intuitive discovery of additional strengths and direction. Each participant left prepared to take her next step that would enable her to gently care for herself while tuning into her own innate wisdom in new way.

I must admit leading this event was exhilarating and I was in bliss while holding this space with the trees, wind, and surrounding beauty as my co-therapist.
